How to make the most of your IHS consultation
A 45-minute private consultation is short for what we want to cover. Here's what to bring, what to think about beforehand, and what to expect.
Before the consultation
- Recent labs, if you have them. Even a basic blood panel from the last 6 months saves us time.
- A list of current medications, supplements, and dosages. Including the ones you started yourself.
- Your goals, in plain language. "Lose 30 pounds and keep it off" or "sleep through the night" or "feel like myself again" — specific enough to test against.
- Your history with prior wellness or weight-loss approaches — what you tried, what worked, what didn't.
- Your concerns. Honest ones. The questions you've been afraid to ask.
During the consultation
Expect the first 15–20 minutes to be us listening. We want your story before we share our framework. The middle section is a clinical conversation — questions about specific symptoms, medical history, and labs. The last 10–15 minutes is where we share what we think might be useful and answer your questions honestly.
We don't sell from the consultation. If a program is the right fit, we'll say so. If it isn't, we'll say that too — and where appropriate, refer you to a specialist who's a better match.
After the consultation
You'll have time to think. We don't ask for decisions in the room. Within a few days you'll receive a personalized summary of our conversation, the recommended next steps, and the panel orders we'd run if you decide to move forward. No countdown clocks, no scarcity tactics.
If IHS isn't the right fit
That happens, and we tell you. Sometimes the right answer is a different specialist (cardiologist, endocrinologist, mental health). Sometimes it's a less expensive intervention. Sometimes it's that the patient isn't quite ready yet — and the right move is to come back in 6 months. Our job is to give you the most useful next step, not to enroll you in something that isn't right.
